Pomelli is Google Labs' tool for helping small and medium-sized businesses produce on-brand content. Launched last year, it has already generated millions of product photos, social campaigns and ads. At I/O 2026, Google announced a significant step forward: the introduction of AI agents that transform the tool from a creative editor into an autonomous brand management system.
The Pomelli Agent and Business DNA
The main addition is the Pomelli Agent, which helps users build what Google calls "Business DNA" — essentially, their brand identity. The agent works in two modes: you can upload existing documents and photos, or you can chat directly with it to build the profile from scratch.
The result is not a static document but a live reference that guides the generation of all subsequent content.
Two new features
Once Business DNA is defined, users get access to two new features:
- Brand book: automatically generates a comprehensive brand guide — custom images, fonts, color palette, tone of voice. - Website: designs and publishes a complete website in just a few clicks, with content aligned to the defined brand identity.
Why it matters
The positioning is explicit: Pomelli is not for large companies with a marketing department, but for people working solo or with a small team who need tools that deliver visual and communication consistency without requiring specific design or copywriting expertise.
The agent-first approach — where the system gathers information and autonomously produces complex outputs — is consistent with the overall direction of Google's announcements at I/O 2026. The distinction from competitors is the integration with the Labs ecosystem and free distribution.
